Green Day - "21st Century Breakdown" (out May 15)

It's been a long time since 2004's punk rock opera, "American Idiot." All that studio time has hopefully produced a solid 8th album from the trio. Green Day set the bar pretty high though. Let's hope they can equal that effort, if not surpass it.
I have a few doubts from the outset though. It looks like Green Day might not deviate from the proven successful format that made "American Idiot" a hit. "21st Century Breakdown" is divided into 3 "acts" and follows the lives of a young couple song by song.
Hmm...sounds a bit like My Chemical Romance's "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" that did the same thing, more or less. The album covers look very similar as well:
